Pastors at Calvary Chapel Oroville
The word Pastor is from the latin word for Shepherd. That's what we do. We shepherd the sheep of God. Jesus is the Good Shepherd, and we are assisting His Work here at Calvary Chapel Oroville. Any glory or honor or praise is given to Him. We don't want any of it. All the teachings and prayers and good works that we do are in His Holy Name. We give cold cups of water to children. We tend His sheep. We are His workmanship. That's the role of a Pastor.
Pastor Jonathan Dow
Pastor
I gave my life to Christ back in 1998. I was at college and God wanted me to follow Him. Since then, He's lead me faithfully and lovingly and has never let me down. He's called me to full time ministry and gave me a wife with the same heart of service that He's installed in me.
We are serving our Lord here at Calvary Oroville. It's a two step ministry. The first is salvation. The second is discipleship
We hold fast to the simple message of Salvation. Just "call upon the name of the Lord, and you shall be saved." Acts 2:21. "Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and you shall be saved." Romans 5:9.
"Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ." 1 Corinthians 11:1. We live out our lives in front of our teens with the hope and the direction that they should seek God as we do. They should pray and read like as we do. They should loved as they are loved.
Every ministry God has me do comes down to those two steps. I like simple.
Pastor Bob Scott
Pastor Emeritus
Pastor Bob has been leading the flock at Calvary Chapel Oroville for twenty-nine years as Senior Pastor. His greatest joy is sharing in the lives of the people he has been called to serve. Pastor Bob feeds the flock of God at CCO with clear and accurate Biblical teaching using the expository style of Bible teaching. He firmly believes that the chapter by chapter, verse by verse approach to Bible teaching is the best way to educate and equip God’s people so that they can grow spiritually, live victorious Christian lives and become salt and light in the community. He now serves as Pastor Emeritus to Shepherd and train the next generation.
